My name is Rascal, and I’m the leader of the pack here at Black Canyon Animal Sanctuary.  I may be small but I’m in charge and have been selected to be your host here at the BCS website.  I came here about 3 years ago after meeting Debbie at a spay and neuter clinic at the shelter in Cedaredge.  My owner had moved and left me in the rental house for a month.  Man...was I stressed out.  I had plenty of food but the water didn’t last so I had to bark my head off until someone finally called the cops. Even though they were trying to help me, I was so mad I tried to bite their hands off.  Finally I settled and was in a crate at the shelter when I met Debbie.  She was there for 3 days and there was just something about her so on the last day I gave her that melting look that I rarely use.  She said goodbye, and I was shocked my look didn’t work.  But, about 15 minutes later, she appeared and said she was taking me home!  Been there ever since and am constant companion to Debbie’s mother.  They sometimes make me wear the stupidest clothes, and I have to act even meaner so the rest of the pack takes me seriously.  Let me introduce you to my home, the Black Canyon Animal Sanctuary in Crawford, CO!
